About Us

Dr. Emily Coles is the owner and operator of Big Rapids Family Eyecare. Dr. Coles is a graduate of Big Rapids High School (2000), Michigan Technological University (2004), and the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State (2008). 

Dr. Coles is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Michigan Optometric Association, West Michigan Optometric Association, Downtown Business Association of Big Rapids, Mecosta County Area Chamber of Commerce, and Spectrum Health PSAC (Patient and Family Advisory Council), and is DPA and TPA certified.

​Dr. Coles is excited to accept new patients of all ages, specializing in contact lens fittings, young children’s exams, and the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.

​Dr. Coles is married and the mother of 3 boys: Carson, Reid, and Ari. She enjoys exercising, spending time with family, and cheering on local sports teams.
